1.03 Mark Evans and Family Say, "Thank You"
My family and I would like to thank our CPC family for the calls,
cards, and as a sign of the times, Facebook messages, during the period
following the deaths of my sister Sondra, and my grandmother Evelyn. We
have many pleasant memories to remember them by, and more importantly,
we have The Blessed Hope, that we'll see them again soon, along with
all those others who have lost friends and family to death. “And the
last enemy that shall be conquered is death.”
Continue to pray for us, and we'll continue to pray for you, CPC (and RPC).
Mark Evans

1.04 Michelle Buckmire sends a request for prayer for her cousin who has been injured in Afghanistan
Hi Ron-
I am sending this to ask for special prayer for my cousin, Derek
Nelson, who is a U.S. Marine serving in the Taliban-infested Helmand
province in Afghanistan. His unit has been involved in the heavy
fighting in the Marjah area and this morning his unit came under attack
again. He sustained injuries including a concussion and is in the
hospital. He was able to talk to his parents (a good sign) and he said
he's "pretty banged up." They are monitoring him closely to determine
if his condition warrants a return home. Two other Marines in his unit
were more seriously injured in the attack and required immediate
medical transport out of the country.
He has already served two tours in Iraq and this was his final tour. On
this last tour, his unit has survived sniper fire, IED explosions,
night attacks and the like on a regular basis. We are very, very
thankful and grateful that he is alive! So in addition to special
prayer for his full recovery, we also want to give special thanks and
praise to God for sparing his life. We would also like to lift up those
who were more critically injured as well as their families.
Many thanks-
Michelle

7.01 Emmanuel - Brinklow invites you to join us for The Living Legends Awards February 27, 2010 at 6:00 P.M.
Emmanuel - Brinklow invites you to join us for The Living Legends Awards, as we celebrate great individuals of pioneering spirits. Our
mission is to collaborate with our sister churches and with the
community to publicly recognize the contributions these
individuals have made to humanity. The
award ceremony presents an excellent opportunity to showcase the love
of God through Adventism, to those who may not otherwise visit our
churches for traditional worship. It also affords us the opportunity to showcase worthy role models to inspire our youth.
We have dedicated Saturday evening, February 27, 2010 at 6:00 P.M. for this Free, Formal event. With your participation, we can make this celebration the area's premier black history month event. For additional invitations to send to your co-workers, friends and family, please contact Donna Johnson Scott at djohnsonscott@yahoo.com or 443-250-8729.

7.02 “The Gospel Movement” Celebrates its 1 year Anniversary with a Benefit Concert
What
started as a Prayer Request, to safely transport large numbers of youth
from their local School or Church, has become the transportation bus
ministry of “The Gospel Movement”.Celebrate the 1 year Anniversary of “TGM” Inc. at Takoma Academy on February 27, 2010 at 5pm. Pastor Melvyn Hayden III will share his vision for transporting Christian groups in the DC, MD, and Northern VA areas. This
will also be a Benefit Concert with singing, poetry, a praise dance,
and prayer to raise funds so “TGM” can cover its operating
expenses and continue to provide cost effective, safe transportation to
large groups while carrying the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Please
bring a donation to the concert (all checks written to “The
Gospel Movement”) or donate online anytime at: http://www.pastorhayden.com/TGM.html. Another way you can help is to call TGM at (301) 237-7925 for your next big bus trip! Thank-you so much for your contribution, prayers and support as we endeavor to keep the Gospel moving!
